Equilizer Bar Storage

I have gotten a ton of great ideas and information from the forum and I would like to share this simple mod with other Jammers and Equalizer owners.
My old 8314SS had pass thru storage in the front. I installed a 3" PVC tube with an end cap just long enough to hold my bars. This setup kept the bars out of the weather and not banging on something else.
When we traded up to the 3008W, it didn't have appropriate space in the under bed storage area to remount the tube.
I purchased a PVC cap and threaded end. With 1/4 / 20 threaded rod and 1 1/2" wide strap, I mounted the tube to the front of the TT as you can see in the pictures.
The tube is just long enough so that the bars do not rest on the threads and not so long that the bars go too deep into the tube.
Now I don't have to store the bars in the truck, the garage or out in the open at a campground.

Great idea! Is it the angle of the picture or is your L Bracket tilted back a little bit? The reason I ask is I can't get mine to stop from moving. I always tighten the bolts to the recommended torque and by the time I get to the campground the brackets are tilted again.

Good idea..... I like the use of the PVC pipe. Only suggestion would be to paint it black to match your trailer.

Other than that looks great...... our older trailer had more storage area than the new one... one thing is I've gotten better at packing, so I think I"m using the space I have better than in the past where I just loaded up everything.

Mine have always moved some. I have had my Equilizer since '06 and have considered the bracket adapters offered by the company to let the bars slide more quietly. However, I read also that they would reduce the sway control somewhat. So, not for me.
The brackets always seem tight when I check them and the noise they make let me know they are working.

Nice mod. Will let my buddy know about this one. One thing you might consider, just as a precaution, put a screw through your hang strap just to make sure it doesn't get bounced out while going down the road.

easy fix to stop the brackets from moving ...drill 2 small holes on either side of the bottom bolt and put a screw in each . thus making a forward and backward 'stop' for the bottom bolt of the bracket. It worked great for me .
I also bought the nylon noise stopper and it didn't really hinder the sway . No more than adding grease.
