Existing satellite dish and Directv

The TT has a satellite attached to the roof that we can crank up or crank down.

I'm guessing it's for the TV? I have Directv at home can I just bring my receiver and card and use the built in dish?

Yes, but, depending on your antenna and receiver at home, you'll probably have to change the dish settings to 18" round and "Multiswitch", while using it in the RV.

I'm guessing the settings on the receiver? So just plug everything in, crank the satellite up, adjust settings and search for signal? That easy?

That easy, if you have the same antenna on the house. I just pay the extra five bucks a month to keep one in the MoHo.

We have High-Def, and I'd have to change the receiver setup every time, plus the cabinet is full with the switchbox, the DirecTV receiver, and the DVD player in it.

It's a PITA to pull the receiver and change the settings after each trip.

The receiver in my MoHo is a Hi-Def DVR, but for short trips, I just leave it on the crank-up roof antenna. For longer stays, I break out the SlimLine ad change the settings.
