Fan-Tastic fan

When I head out to the local CG for the holiday weekend in a week I will be stopping by the dealership to have a Fan-Tastic fan installed. Everyone talks highly of the reversible air flow to help cool down the trailer. After it is installed we can see if a rain cover will fit.

On another note - I asked the service department if they had any use for my propang tank cover since I upgraded to one with a lid. They said yes - that sometimes they get used trailers that they put up for sale. We are exchanging the cover for a inside handle on the left side of the door for my dad to use when exiting. He had a stroke so stepping down is not so easy for him.

Maxxair makes a fan-mate specifically for the fantastic fan.
You can have your vent open and your fan on even in
the hardest rain storm.
We love ours!
If I were you, I'd price one at your dealer and see how much
they want to put it on. Just one hot rainy night with your vent
closed and you'll wish you had it!!
It is a DIY job if you're inclined to work on the roof.
Pretty simple installation.

We really love ours and the thermostats in them. We have the Maxxair covers as well. During the summer I leave both open and set to run to a specified temperature. They keep the air circulating and the coach isn't steaming hot when I go out there. No matter what the weather is, other than humidity, the Fantastic Fans keep the coach temps comfortable and no stale smells from being closed up during the summer.

We have 2 vent covers (as I'm sure many of you do). One is a MaxxAirII (no fan, air comes in here) and one is a FanMate (with the Create-a-Breeze) to exhale air. Works great when raining for cross ventilation across the length of the trailer.

My trailer only has one vent (in the bathroom) but should be able to open the window(s) and get a good breeze going. The fan will only do so much during the heat of the day but sucking the hotter air out and bringing in the cooler night air will make a big difference.

I will do as suggested and check on the rain guard. Will let you know how it works after my next trip out.

If you want to save some money the Maxx Air II cover will work fine with a Fantastic Fan. The covers specially designed for the Fantastic Fan are quite expensive.

Make sure it's the Maxx Air II ...there is a smaller, older version..

Good point, Willis. The original Maxx Airs will not provide enouigh airflow for the fan to work.

I have one of the original Max-air fan mates over the
fan in my bathroom. I can't see or feel that it's cut
down on the air flow.

This is not a scientific test but it's working fine for us.
And it's real rare for us to run the fan on hi speed
more than just a few minutes. Lower speeds are not
a problem no matter which fan mate model you have.

I do recommend getting the new version that has hinges.
You will eventually get bugs or dust balls or something
under the fan mate cover on the screen of your fan.
Hinges makes cleaning the fan and screen easier.
