Fantastic fan

I am wondering if the fantastic Fan is a good modification for me to do with my 2003 Sunseeker LE 3100SS.

During my buyers research I noticed many, if not all, the newer model RV's have the Fantastic Fan. I have researched it and think it looks like a good thing. Any thoughts!?

Not only is it a great product, the company located in Michigan is great to work with.

Great Fan, BUT........

I love the fan, it'll suck ya right out of the rig if you get too close and it's automatic, or used to be. Mine gets stuck in the closed position and won't open unless I use the manual (twist the knob) option. I called the company, they apologized and sent me little packets of cleaner (for the rubber seal) and a silicon jell to apply after cleaning. I scrubbed and lubed. Next day, same thing, stuck so tight the auto function stops before it damages itself....Back to the manual knob. Oh well, it doesn't leak and the rest of the operations work fine.

I removed my Fan-tastic and installed a MAXX-air fan. I had both and really like my new remote controlled exhaust fan.

Try some silicone spray. It works good on rubber seals on the outside storage compartments, too. (as well as the locks) Randy

All,
I must confess that the question I am about to ask will sound really dumb, but I have to ask it anyway. Do all fantastic fans work in an auto open mode? I have never tried it without opening with the little knob? I love the fan. I used it all the time. Need to get a vent cover so I can use it during a storm. Thanks,

We have a fantastic fan in our 2004 Sunseeker 3100SS and I love it. It is installed in the front-most vent (the one over the couch slide area).

We installed two Fantastic Fans a few months ago and really love them.

The forward vent in the kitchen/salon area was just a crank open type vent - no fan - however, FR did prewire it for fan which was a great relief when I found the wires there.

The vent in the bathroom had a TCL fan (tiny, cheap, loud) and my short DH could barely reach the switch - glad that one's gone.

We replaced them with the fully automatic Fantastic vents with rain sensors and remotes. What a difference they both make - one of the best upgrade investments we made in the RV - what a huge difference.

If you don't already have one, it's a great ad on.

Get the fan that has variable speed instead of just the 3 speed option

Los Popes,

What exactly does the rain sensor do?

You'll have to let me know if the rain sensors work. I haven't heard much about those but I'm curious if it actually works.

MikeInColo,
It is supposed to turn the fan off and close the lid automatically if the sensor detects rain. Mine have not been tested in real world conditions yet because as the song goes "It Never Rains in Southern California," but I did hit it with a light spray from a garden hose and it works.

Cool...question for mike in col. Were there wires already in place in your RV for the fan? I have the same model as you only a year older and was wondering how you wired it in?
