I know where I can get a decent used one but not sure it is worth it or not. Probably have to mount it on passengers side of truck. Running out of room on my side.

Jim
The one I installed cost about $46 new. It's the smallest one I could find on the market right now. See photos at the beginning of the thread.

Thanks, found it on Amazon for $36.81. Not worth buying the used one and small enough I might be able to squeeze it on the drivers side.

Amazon.com: Uniden PRO520XL 40-Channel CB Radio: Car Electronics

Now to my question. What channel do the truckers use now? Do cg use them and if so what channel?

I'm still hearing them on channel 19. Campers are supposedly using channel 13, not sure about campgrounds though.

XM radio and cell phones have replaced the chatter from truckers. We don't have to fuss and raise heck to keep awake anymore. You can still tell when you get close to a big truck stop though. I have a Magnum S-3 10 meter radio converted to CB frequencies, peaked and tuned with a Wilson 5000 antenna. It does a superb job.

Doesn't sound llike they are worth the time or expense any more. Use to be very useful for road reports and weather but as you stated cell phones have replaced them. Even my GPS gives weather and detours. Oh well, it was a thought.
