About heating the bedroom...when it's cold outside it won't heat the bedroom also.
I'm pretty sure of that since the heat output is only 4600 btu (according to the sticker that came with it.)
My guess is that is is a roughly 1500 watt electric heating element and it will keep up in my livingroom/kitchen to a certain extend...like possibly 30F outside.
I think that lower than those kind of temps i will have the furnace as 'backup'.
I experienced a low setting on a ceremic heater i had in there (high setting did eventually blew my 15 amp breaker) kept it fairly good at roughly 70F with an outside temp of 35F, hence my guess it will keep up untill it gets really nippy outside.
I did keep both my doors open in my trailer and had no problems so far and with 2 (cheap)ceremic heaters on low-medium i had no issues.
I did install the fireplace to replace one of the ceremic heaters and for estetic reasons..
...it really looks cool with the 'flames' and all!
