Fiver Pinbox Bikr Rack

Has anyone installed/used a pinbox bike rack with a short bed truck? I'm considering building one to hold two bikes, but I'm concerned with clearance issues with the truck cab. Don't want it too close to the fiver in case highway jostling caused a bike to hit the fiver cap. Love the idea though. If this doesnt work, I may have to add a receiver hitch to the front of the truck. Just wondering if anyone else has already done this.

I've done it but not with a short bed truck. I can possibly take some measurements when I get my camper to see if it helps you make a decision.
