This pole will support a 3x5 flag and a second flag can be added, but it would have to be one that is the next size down. While at Pirateland in Mytle Beach I had a small pirate flag under Old Glory and I had another idea and that was to run a set of "red white and blue" rope lights up with the flag.

I used: a 1900 cover plate from an electrical box for the base support, to support the bottom of the pole, this was use also to extend the pumper, I used a ladder support from an above ground pool to keep the bottom from moving, then the pole is an 18" painters pole, I attach a pully on the top and used 3/16 nylon rope, two small brass clips and tied the two open ends of the rope to each clip, this was done so that I was able to add more then on flag, then on the very top of the pole I installed a plastic soft ball and used the threaded part of the pole and screwed the plastic ball in place then cut off the end of a paint roll handle and secured the ball to the pole. I did paint the plastic ball gold but it didn't hold up.

When it is time to pull out all I do is remove the flag, lower the pole and tie the rope around the ladder and put the access rope in the bumper cap. The pole stays on the camper.

"old Glory" is flying higher of course.
Do you strap it in the groove of the arm? And do you use a longer flag pole?

I bought my mount and pole from Poles and Holders - Your place for Flag Poles, Flags and Mountings
It will support 2- 3x5 flags and the whole set-up packs away neatly in a nice bag (included) that fits in one of my storage compartments.

I use two velcro straps and strap them in the groove, then wrap my rope light over them as well.

The flag kits I get came with two interlocking poles and mounting brackets. I use the two poles and the bracket on the "Stars & Stripes" and use one pole and the bracket on my Army flag.

I'll see if I have better picture of the setup and post it if you'd like.

I use a 25' flag pole from LOWES, it comes in 5, 5' sections. I made a base plate for the pole that goes under the tongue jack, then a vertical support that hooks into the hitch. The pole also doubles as a UHF Antenna pole. Pics to follow once I take them if any one wants.

Absolutely on the pics. I got a flag mount that I have have literally thrown together. It will work but not the greatest. Looking for better ideas.

I use a couple of clamp on, stainless steel fishing rod holders from Walmart. They are easy to put the ladder and can be mounted in just about any angle. They are around $35. But can be taken off in under a minute and stored very easily.

flag pole mount

The flag pole came from LOWES, was 5 each 5' sections. I welded a piece of exhaust pipe that was 1/2" bigger in dia. to the base, then slid a piece of exh pipe snug over flag pole, bolted thru all 3 and then filled the void between the 2 pieces of exh pipe with dense caulk.

Yeah If you don't mind looking for an up close pic of the way you did it. I'm not mechanically retarded but I don't want the wind to take it down. We have some high winds where we go camp sometimes.
