Flagpole attachment
This spring I'm going to buy a 20' flag pole and was wondering how everyone is attaching them to their TT. I've seen the ones that attach to the stand and is placed under your tire. I thought the pole might hit the side if you're in a high wind situation. I have thought bought coming up with something to mount to the tongue jack. I just wanted to see what everyone else was doing.

I made a setup that uses a hitch ball welded to a metal tube with a separate base that goes under the tongue jack. I copied the idea from someone here and I love the results. Let me see if I can find that post.
Found it. Post 18.

Attached are pics of the bracket I made to attach 20 ft flagpole to battery bracket on the tongue of my Freedom Express. Pic 1 is prototype made from wood ( design verified in 20 mph wind) Second pic is the production bracket made from 3/16 steel plate and 1" angle iron. U-bolt holds PVC sleeve permanently in place and pole slides in and out quickly. U-bolt and sleeve not mounted to final as still finishing surface. Plate bolts to battery mount cross bars.

I wish my TT had a ladder, not only to attach a flagpole, but for the convenience of getting to the roof.

I ran into lighting issues for something that tall, so I opted for the swivel stake pole.

I used three poles strap 12 the jack and slide the others over top of it.

Mine was an all day project. A friend braze a four inch stock of 3/8" alunimum to a piece of metal chair leg (cut off of course). I drilled and tapped the 5r to accomidate the chrome chair leg bolted to it (Had to bend it slightly to avoid hitting the fron of the 5r.). Use a painters pole (Menards) for the flag pole and same stock of 3/8" tube for the flag. The flag tube is drilled and eyelets attach to the flag then It slips into then painters pole. Additionally, I installed a day/night photo cell to one side of a dual elect box for the flag. The light is a "trouble light/drop light" purchaced from sears on-line $27.00. The other side of the pwr box allows continous power.

Mine is on a dusk to dawn light sensor so I don't have to remember to turn the light on and off.

Found a LED/solar clamp on flagpole light at Lowes beginning of the season. It works great!
Was less than $30... last all night. Only thing needed was to secure shining straight up pole... gooseneck a little too loose. Used a piece of shock cord... secured lighthead to pole...

I found an old length of PVC that was long enough and wedged it between my tonge jack and the propane tanks. Zip tie to jack under the hitch and another to jack above the hitch
