Forest river 29 hfs xlr waste valves

I was thinking that I have seen the remote valves for the valves like mine were poorly designed. You have to get on your hands and knees to pull the valves. The after market remotes are too expensive, has any handy owner design done that can be retrofit from common parts found at a hardware store?
