did you remove the steel tip? If yes that it the temp sensor. Could be the reason you have no reading. Reason I ask is my units had no probe cover. Try hocking to car battery to see if they work rather than 9 volt battery.

I have one of these too and like its simplicity. But mine seems to go through battereries very quickly, both the probes and the monitor. Does yours do that?

No I didn't remove anything. Mine has a different kind of temp sensor. I've tried it with and without the clear plastic cover too. I'll try the car battery. Click image for larger version

I would seriously consider bundling it all up and returning it for a refund and get the AcuRite and enjoy the way the wireless one works.

I see you got a different one than mine. My sensors are metal ends.
Email whoever you got them from and see what they say.
