Glad you folks are happy with that method. But read the title, "MOD". By posting what a dozen others already said is clogging the thread.
Throwing a sensor in the fridge and having to replace batteries isn't enough for many of us. The folks posting on here trying to do this mod, don't need the discouragement with the posts of another product that doesn't even qualify as a modification.
This mod gives you a hard wired factory appearance that once installed there are no batteries to worry about or some gaudy looking mismatched display.
Call it a rant but this is one of the reasons I don't start to many threads because of people clogging them up with repetitive nonsense. You made multiple posts pushing the same item. We get it already.

Stay on topic!

05CrewDually is on the money. I sometimes hesitate to post for the same reason.

I added something like this to mine. I just velcro to attach it above frig. It is actually helpful in making sure the temps are right. When we first started it up the temps were way to low. The frig went down to 34 F. I was able to adjust the controls to get it to the right temp.

mod update

I ordered another from the Bay and got it in about a week from China!

Now I have one for both the freezer and fridge.
Great no fuss mod that needs no maintenance. Accurate too.

Here's a pic of the back of the control panel and how I wired it into the switch p/c board. Note the pins I used which are powered only when the fridge is on.

For those with the humidity control option, I would think this is a separate p/c board next to the main switch board. You can see where this would be on the back of my panel.
edit: I take that back - I see on Silvers unit they are on the same board. I just checked all my pins to see which ones offered what I needed. No extra switch required.
I hope this helps those wanting to do this mod.

Looks great. Mine turns on and off with the fridge switch. I picked up power and ground off of the feeds for the humidity switch.
