I ordered 4. They look good and are cheap enough. I know when my buddy sees them he'll want them too so I'll be ready for another install.

Dang, 40 minutes pass and I got a message they have been shipped. Might get them sooner than expected.

I use a cheaper thermometer from WM.....cost about 2 bucks and hangs off a rack. If I was to check the freezer....I just put inside there for about an hour. Been working 10 years that way.

We got a similar message from a different item. 3 weeks later it arrived. I know I'm getting spoilt with the fast shipping here in the US.

The "A2" is a revision number. The units are functionally the same, just some improvement made.
If you hope to monitor in your TV while in tow, I will caution you that the range is limited as the design is really to have the receiver close by. In our prior camper, the distance from the fridge to the coupler was 17' and we towed with a 2004 Yukon 2500 XL. With that setup, I had to put the receiver on the rear window with a suction cup to have reliable communication as the signal wouldn't reach the dash. That didn't bother us at all because it's the alarms that we listened for. Our new camper's floorplan moves the fridge much more forward - the distance from coupler to fridge is only 10' - and I get communication at the dash without issue.

We use an indoor/outdoor thermometer. Just put the outdoor sensor in the frig and read the temp on the monitor. You get frig temp and inside rv temp at the same time. Works like a champ and no wiring involved. We use this all the time. Just have to replace the batteries from time to time, but it works great and saves a bunch of $$$$$$.

Found the Acu-Rite here:
Acu-Rite 00986A2 Digital Refrigerator and Freezer Thermometer
Was $33.90 with shipping to NJ. Ordered one on Friday. Will post if it takes too long to ship.

Depends on the type of probe it is, some can be lengthened, some are calibrated with that exact length. These are cheap enough to do some guilt free exploratory surgery on.

I found one last night that had a 3 meter long probe wire. $2.46 with free shipping. It will not get here until sometime between early February to early March. I can wait

Received all 4 of them today. Not to bad since they came from Hong Kong.
Now to find time to install a couple of them.

Figured I'd follow up with my temp displays.
I finally found the time to install 2 displays. I mounted them in the above panel. I was able to pickup power right there and when I shut the fridge off, they also turn off. Here's some photos.
First I marked out where to cut.
Second I filed the hole to size so the display fits snug.
I then plugged the displays together and ran the power and ground wires to the humidity switch feed.
Snapped it all together and tested.
Done.
