Ours was just delivered last week. Can't wait to try them out in the rv on our next trip.

For those that did the ebay displays, how did you run the probes into the compartments? Thanks Michael

Too big and ugly. It sticks out and doesn't match anything.

I ran the probe leads down the corners behind the hinges and into the compartments. Totally unnoticeable and non invasive.

I have this installed. Haven't had it long so I do not have any recommendations as yet. But for anyone looking for a COMPLETELY wireless solution, this is it.

If hooking up a red wire to a red wire and a black wire to a black wire that are easily identifiable scares you, then don't do it. It doesn't get any easier.

All you do is attach the red to red and black to black on the humidity switch.

Wired probes have the advantage of being able to store them in liquid in the refrigerator. That eliminates temperature swings and reflects the status of the food in the refrigerator/freezer, not the air. That approach is a regulatory standard for monitoring refrigerator temperatures in a healthcare setting.

I don't have a monitor because I don't camp enough to justify it. We have a basic analog thermometer in each compartment. I'll also use the trick of putting ice cubes in a plastic bag in the freezer.

If I ever do feel compelled to spend more money on the trailer, I'll probably go the wireless route because I'm lazy, and because we can monitor it remotely while on the road.

Pretty much the same here... I bought a small wired indoor/outdoor thermometer, double-side tape mounted it inside the fridge and ran the remote sensor into the freezer. I kept the wire flat and taped down with clear packing tape.

Did you connect the yellow and black wires to anything too? I'm just curious because I ordered this thermometer too and before I install it, I wanted to test it by running a battery to the red and black. The display lit up blue but the screen was blank? I made sure the protective cap was removed from the probe and still a blank screen. I have 3 thermometers and they're all blank?

The black wire to a - negative feed and the red + to a positive feed. That's it. The other wires are spare. IIRC I plugged the 2 together to feed the second one.
When I first turn them on it takes a half second to display. Here's a video of me turning them on/off. It was 80 here today so the fridge, since it was off, shows 77°.

Thank you for replying and for posting the video.
I'm wondering if maybe I have a defective unit? Or maybe it won't operate just from a 9v battery? I think I'll connect it to the fridge wires and see what happens. I'm stumped.

9v battery? That's probably the problem. Hook it to a car battery to test it and I'm sure it will be fine.
