Front Window

Our TT has a stationary window in the front that does not open. It sure would be nice to have a window that opens so we could get cross ventilation in our bedroom. Has anyone ever considered having this window switched out to a slider window, and is that even possible? Just wondering if its possible and how many arms and legs I'd have to give up.

I asked the same question while looking at new trailers.....most do not open for the simple reason they are a path for leaks while driving down the road in the rain. Most mfg's if they have windows at all they are sealed tight.

there are several companies that make replacement windows for RV's. windows can be made in any configuration and size. we had considered replacing our stationary window with a double slider,but reconsidered after looking at the amount of work this would call for. just to get the correct opening measurements,the valance and window would have to be removed. measurements needed are height , width , wall thickness and corner radius. then put the window back in while waiting for the new window to arrive....we figured the price to be between $400-$500 .

All our pre-2000 trailers had windows that opened with an awning/cover on them. We never had problems with them leaking while towing in rain or otherwise. I think the mfgrs just quit using them as a cost/wt reduction.

I may have to go for it. I miss that... Sleeping with the windows open... Cool air flowing in...

Yeah. This is one project I think my wife will approve and fund without questions.
