Furrion Backup Camera

Curious what the differences between the 3 camera's are:

FOS48TA-BL
FRC12TAPK-BL
FRC12TA-BL

I cant seem to figure it out... other than the names, and prices.

If you're going to use it for observation while driving, go with the 48 model. As stated, the model 12 is only good for backup as the frame rate is less and the video is somewhat choppy. Models with PK in them include the mounting hardware. I found mine on Amazon cheapest and, surprisingly, I found the 48PK cheaper than the one without the mounting hardware. I just got rid of the brackets and wires I didn't need. I've used it once and, in my opinion, it's already paid for itself.

Yeah, I noticed the PK was cheaper on Amazon, that's why I asked the question. Thanks for the descriptions.

I think the FOS48TA-BL had a greater transmission too, 100'.

The FOS48 is definitely the best choice of the three. I also bought it on Amazon. I'm very happy with the camera and resolution for backing up and high speed observation behind the RV when traveling. Amazon prices will sometimes fluctuate even from the same supplier so check it out.

I bought the FOS48TA-BL from Big Discount RV for $327 with free shipping.

customerservice@bigdiscountrv.com

It works great. I read reviews where people were loosing connection but mine has worked every time. The only problem I had was that that I found that the wiring wasn't connected behind the mount but it just needed to be recrimped. I also had to buy a bean bag style mount for the monitor to have it sit on the dash pad. The angle of the windshield on my truck wouldn't allow the monitor to be viewable with the included mount.

I use mine while driving but the frame rate is slow. I must have a FRC12TA-BL.

It does cut out once in a while.

Exlimey, I have the same backup camera and can't use the suction cup mount. I like your idea of using a bean bag. Unfortunately, a gimbal mount can't be used like Garmin has. What brand/type of bean bag did you use and where did you purchase it? Do you just sit the monitor on the bag without the bracket attached? By the way, are you from England? I saw your scree name and thought that is what it meant.

Lake jumper,

I bought mine on eBay for $12 with free shipping from Kansas City. The brand name is Gigaware. It's called a universal GPS mount 20-533, bean bag dash mount. It has a smooth area to mount the suction cup mount in the center. It sits nicely on the dash and has a nonskid surface. I'm adding a file and I hope it works.

I am originally from England. I've lived here in the US for 50 years now.

We lived in Elk Rapids for a few years. I miss it up there.

Beautiful harbor, great Chinese place. Ask for "Dr-G Spicy" seriously they will remember me!

This mod involve taking apart the receiver, moving the antenna lead outside. I covered it in heat shrink.

This improved range, no more drop outs. Frame rate is still a issue but less of one as the signal is better.

It looks like we swapped locations. We love it in Elk Rapids. It's a nice small town right out of a Norman Rockwell print. We live up near the north end of the lake just past the Wandawood Resort. I retired from Selfridge 1-1/2 years ago.

We eat at Chang Express at least 1-2 times a month. I like their Thai menu. The owner's daughter went to school with my step daughter. The do have great food.
