Furrion Wireless Observation System

I am considering purchasing a Furrion Wireless Observation System. The model # is FOS48TAPK-BL. Will this system really work and transmit a good picture from the back of our 38' fifth wheel to the truck cab. I am sooooo tired of being disappointed in products that do not perform like they are supposed to. I purchased a I-BAL camera system for hitching small trailers and it won't even give me a steady picture from the back of my truck to the cab. Is it worth buying this Furrion?

We purchased same unit last spring for our 38' travel trailer. It works flawlessly. I run it when traveling and have had no signal loss. Really nice for backing in tight spots.

We have the same unit and it works great on our 41' Cardinal. We've had an occasional "drop-out" but only on very crowded highways which I presume was radio frequency interference from some other source.

Works great on our 33' TT. Even has a good low light picture.

Nice to monitor behind the trailer while driving. Really nice for backing in tight spots.

Works great on a Full Profile 40 ft Heartland Bighorn! No signal issues! A good buy for sure!

I purchased the Furrion about 2 years ago and installed it on my Flagstaff Super Classic 831RESS which had been prewired by the factory. It continues to work flawlessly. I use it to keep aware of traffic behind me on the road and especially when backing, however, I would HIGHLY recommend you CONTINUE to have a person behind and advising/directing you when backing into a camping spot.

Ours has worked great since day one. No issues on a 35' 5er. They do have a repeater should you need one but I have never heard of anyone needing one.

Mine stays connected, given I'm not as long. It works for tight spots and to give you an idea of what's directly behind you. In traffic, I'd say they would have to be tailgating to properly see anyone. On mine, it's pointed more downward than panning behind me.

I just ordered an RV camera system from Tadibrothers.com. I'll install it on our trailer when it comes in and they guarantee it too work 75'. Price was about $215, lots better than the Furrion. It's not "plug and play" with the FR mount, but I'll figure it out.

Furrion Camera

I just returned from my first long-distance trip; just under 4,000 miles. I purchased the same camera and installed it on my 35TT which was pre-wired. Once I connected the wire harness, it has worked perfectly ever since. The only interruption I have seen was at highway speed in the rain, it would "blink" now and then, but otherwise it is very clear, no latency. I originally bought it primarily for backing up, but find I use it much more for driving. Great purchase!!

Good unit

I bought one and installed on my Surveyor SP220, wired into running lights. It worked great but failed within 24 hours. No problem though. The Furrion company verified it was faulty and the dealer sent me a new one even before I returned the faulty unit. No hassle involved with either one of them. So, Good company and good dealer! And a good clear picture. Ten thousand times better than the "Peak" brand I bought from Wally World a couple of years ago. I am a Happy camper.

DW purchased one and had the dealer install when we picked up our 2018 Toy hauler.
works perfect.
wired into the running lights so they have to be on to power the camera.
trailer is 37 feet 8 inches long.

its nice to see where vehicles are around beside and behind you.
I swear that one driver on the trip home was in the toy hauler compartment looking for beer or something else because they were so close.

I put one on our 32' Greywolf and I have had no interuptions yet and the picture is very clear. I have no complaints at all, good value for the money.

As other folks have said the Furrion is a great system and works great. It keeps the signal with no drop-outs even at high highway speeds!

I looked at Tadibrothers, but as our trailer was brand new, I didn't relish the thought of drilling holes in my new trailer. So I had the dealer do the install and all is good.

I got one and used it twice so far and it works great. Nice having a piece of mind being able to see what is behind you.

I purchased the Furrion observation camera primarily for backing up, but I find it very useful while traveling using it to see what's behind or beside me. I installed it on the rear of my 44' toyhauler and have had no signal problems.

Amazon has a couple from Yuwei and LeeKooLuu for a lot less cost than Furrion. Has anyone used these brands? I'm all about saving money, but cautious about buying junk that I end up replacing with a good (more costly) product anyway.

Both look to be a ok product if you read the reviews but not many reviews are listed. Both only look to be backup cameras from what I could tell. The big question is will these companies be around a year or two down the road when you might need support from them or maybe buy replacement parts if something broke. Furion is not the best company out there but they do have a good reputation and are all over the RV world. I know the cost is more and I'm just like you, I have been looking at the cheaper ones saying how do I justify $100-200+ on something that does the same thing. This is also my dilemma with TPMS stuff but that's another post for another day. But I think after all I read on here and with reviews I think I'm going with the furion system. Plus my TT is wired for it to [emoji16].

Good luck let us know what you decide.

I have a 2018 422 amp toyhauler. The furion came already installed. So far it is a piece of junk. Camera will not stay connected and keeps dropping. Took it back to the dealer. We will see what they say.
