Generator Storage

I have completed a bunch of mods to my 2017 233s. We are going on a two week trip to Yellowstone, and have been making some improvements ahead of the trip to be better suited for boondocking.

Here is the first mod.

A rear rack for the dual Honda generators, and a 5 gallon fuel can. I also purchased a siphon fill hose so I can refill the generators without removing the gas can (or setting down my beer)

I can use the basket to carry firewood.

A local fabrication shop extended the frame i- beams using bolt on angle irons and custom fabricate the rest.

Looks sharp remember any weight you add back there takes away from your tongue weight, just something to keep in mind. Nice mod.

Thanks. Yes, I realize any weight will come off the tongue.

Here are the rest of the electrical boondocking upgades.

1500 watt high surge inverter with remote control.

And the generators all locked away.

From personal experience I can tell you in Yellowstone they are STRICT about running your genny.
MUST have forest service approved muffler and their quiet times they enforce to the minute.
I started my genny about 5 minutes before the no generator time and they were knocking on my door to 'remind" of the time.

Good info.

Hopefully at that higher elevation, we will only use the generators to recharge. We hopefully won't need the air.

We will be traveling for several night's to and from at lower elevations, and will need to ac, almost all dispersed camping.

The rear gets bounced a lot more than the rest of the camper. Do you have rubber padding in the lockbox to keep the gennys from getting roadrash?

Also with the gennys and the inverter, what batteries are you boon-docking with?

I put down some of that friction cloth. Been considering the covers.

I run two 6v batteries.

Looks good! consider adding some auxiliary lights to the rack, or at least some reflectors.

Yup. Need to run up tho the store this weekend and get some reflective tape.

I considered adding so thin brake lights, but I have no idea how to tap into the circuits easily and cleanly.

From the rear lights seems the most logical, but how to get them to the back of the rack?
