Giant LED flagpole beacon
I’ve seen this a few times at campgrounds but can’t find it online anywhere. I’ve seen campers with giant flagpoles with a 4’ beacon LED arrangement at the top. Super bright, multi color, and addressable RGB.
Attaching a diagram. Has anyone seen this, or created it? I’ve seen something similar related to ATV LED whip lights but not at the top of a flagpole.

Yea looks like a flagpole with a 5050 strand of rgb lights like dcheatwood said...just add these to your current flagpole.
SUPERNIGHT 16.4FT SMD 5050 Waterproof 300LEDs RGB Flexible LED Strip Light Lamp Kit + 44Key IR Remote Controller(Power supply is not included) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B2F3KDQ..._z9ALCb3WHACBB
You don't need an AC adaptor because they are 12v and you can wire direct to TT 12v system.

Those are great for the desert to locate your campsite however I wouldn't much care for it while relaxing in a normal campground looking at the stars.

Exactly! Popular out at Pismo Dunes but I found it really obnoxious in a forest setting at Pinecrest, CA. I feel the same way about outdoor TVs and loud music. Maybe I’m just a curmudgeon.

We use a small solar rechargeable led light. It puts a nice glow on the flag, but not enough to offend other campers or me.

That does look cool, but i"m in agreement with others here that among other campers unless it is a NASCAR or burning man environment with a carnival like atmosphere that could be a bit obnoxious. I do plan on focusing a small spotlight on my flag at the top of the pole at night as required because I don't want to be bothered taking the flag pole down at night. Hoping it isn't an issue.

Been buying poles and lights from Corky for years, awesome dude. Yes only use in the desert to mark our camp site so other friends and club members can find us. We race dirt bikes in the desert and are usually in a large area with many other campers and clubs so having a light on a pole is the easiest way to find us.

Two years ago we were out camping and this YAHOO...put up a 25-30' flag pole and about a dozen high intensity lamps illuminating it. He was probably 300 yds from us in another loop of the CG. It lit up our campsite and about 50 other campsites. Park Ranger showed up about a hour after he turned it on and made them take it ALL DOWN.

We just saw one of these for the first time last weekend and thought it was awful. Annoying the whole campground, messing up the star gazing and just not cool. This camper literally brought the light pollution we escaped from a few campsites away from us. This is up there with running your generator at night.
And what’s the point of bringing a flag camping? Seems like leaving it at home is a good way to lighten your load.

If you're not a vet, you might not get it.
Not digging on you Beach, we have a lot in common. But the passion for that flag runs deep in some of us because of personal experiences that differ from person to person. However, i would never do anything to take away from somebody else's enjoyment of the moment, like overly bright lights or clanging lanyards.

I'll bet you can find those light poles at most ATV/quad runner stores.
Personally, I kind of like them, but I do live out in the desert southwest, where those things are everywhere!
As far as them being annoying...not any worse than a neighbors campfire filling my 5'ver full of smoke!

Let your freedom flag fly!!!
Sorry, but I'm flying our flag... I've got a solar powered light at the top of the pole that keeps it lit at night.
Come on over and tell me to take it down...

Totally agree. I asked my Uncle about it who is a vet of the Vietnam war and flew in combat and he doesn't get it either. He lives out in the desert to get away from the lights...doesn't want it camping.
Not sure why but it seems like more of an eastern state thing. You don't get much of these lit up flags in the western states probably because people are more used to dark skies. Never saw one of those in Utah on our 2 week trip and we walk a lot at night.

ThanksNJKris, babock and johnD10! I understand the vet thing, but out west, many of these flags are not even the old Stars and Stripes. And many people have multiple flags. Typically, you’ll see a giant skull and crossbones with a giant raiders flag. They even do this for a day at the beach without camping.
