Grey wolf shoe shelf

Picked up our 26ckse last week and had it out over the weekend. The wife and I made a little honey-do list to make it ours. First on the list is shoe storage. We were tripping over shoes and the girls seemed to lose theirs several times.
Enter the shoe shelf. Tucks under the bunks so it's out of the way and is right by the door. Basically just pushed the small wall under the bunk back 12", added sides and a shelf. We'll see how it works this weekend. Click image for larger version

Test fit. Few coats of poly and assembly then installation. Should be in tonight.

what type of wood did you use? It looks like it matches pretty well with the mocha in the camper!

Thanks! I used 1/2" maple ply on the sides and the shelf is 5/8" solid soft maple that I had in the garage. Used Minwax Jacobean that I had sitting on a shelf which comes close to matching. Wish it was a little darker but oh well. Total investment was $0, 3 or 4 beers, and a couple hours.

First mod done. Love putting check marks on the honey-do list.

I wanted to do that to ours, but DH was not going to give up outside compartment space. He bring more crap than I do!
