handicap height toilet upgrade, help?

We're looking to upgrade our existing toilet to accomodate my parents, as they will be using the camper for a few months while they are up north for the summer. What options for a higher toilet or adding a spacer is there? How easy/hard is it to do, assuming I'm relatively handy at home repairs, plumbing and general construction.

Thedford makes a toilet riser that will raise the toilet 2 1/2 in. We had one installed in our TT by the dealer. He did not charge for installation and the part cost was about $30.

I'd suggest that you measure the height of toilets your parents use now. The toilet in our TT is higher than the ones in our house (15 1/2"). IIRC, the height of handicap toilets is 17" (to top of rim). You might find the Thetford riser adds too much height. But then, maybe RV toilet heights vary a lot??

We were going to buy the riser recently but then realized how much height it would add. Another thing I wondered about the Thetford riser is how large in diameter in the base it is. Made me wonder if it would get in the way of your toes (for guys).

Otherwise, it's a breeze to re & re an RV toilet. There's no wax ring like a house, it's a foam gasket. The toilets are amazing light too.

im in the process of putting a conventional toilet in my trailer. its on hold due to flu and gf's surgery.
