hanging a paper towel holder

would like to hang a paper towel holder over the sink, i am new to the micro lite's and really don't know what the walls are made of or how thick they are do not want a screw coming through the outside fiberglass, how long of a screw can i use ? the walls seem sturdy on the inside like they are plywood or particleboard but i don't know that.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Oh our TT is flagstaff 21fbrs

thanks

Easiest way to avoid any issues is to go with a free standing one.

One upside is you can bring it outside when need be.

Just be sure if you do is to get one with a heavy base to it.

I have a free standing one too. I like that you can move it or take it outside.

Drill a small pilot hole smaller than your screw diameter. Stick a stiff wire (straightened coat hanger or paper clip) in the hole to determine the wall depth. In any case, 1/2"-5/8" should be enough to hold. Most outside foam-filled walls are 1" thick. Hollow inside walls are similar.

Free standing stuff is just another thing to be moved during setup and packing. I have hung lots of stuff and am planning more. If you want the paper towels outside, just slide the roll off the hanger.

that's a great idea, i hate having to move stuff. i'm just wondering if the wall itself is plywood or particleboard it is a lot more sturdy than the last TT i had. and i can't use my stud finder as the studs are aluminum. guess i'll find out when i drill a hole

It appears to be some soft of pressboard. It comes with the wallpaper attached to one side to make installation easy. It holds a wood screw well as long as you don't torque it too much.

Towel holders, tissue box holders, toothbrush holders, etc. can be mounted. The 3M Command hooks are awesome for towels, jackets, and other things. I have two key racks mounted below the electrical command center---one for keys, the other for dog items, fly swatter, and so on.

Hang clocks and pictures with a screw at the top and Velcro at the bottom. TV remotes are best stored in a holder since Velcro rarely lasts for many removals.

I put mine up with 3M Command strips. Works like a charm and requires no holes (we probably have $100 worth of Command hooks, clips, and strips in our tiny trailer; can't imagine how we ever camped without them!)

I mounted my paper towel holder on the bottom of a cabinet. So that may be another option for you. Also, my trailer came with a paper towel holder attached to the inside of one of the storage compartment doors. Very handy for spills around the water pump and sewer connections.

I bought a nice looking metal paper towel holder, glued magnets to the back of it and stuck it sideways on the range hood.

Since most units have cabinets above the sink, I've always mounted the paper towel holder on the bottom of a cabinet.

I mounter mine inside the pantry door. The screws fit perfectly in the outside frames of the door. When I need them they are there. When I don't, they are out of sight and one less thing to secure when packing. Works great, just like home

If you attach to thin wall board use screws with a coarse thread, such as small sheet metal screws. They will hold better. Be sure ti use screws with thread over the entire shank, not wood screws with the unthreaded portion under the head.

Mounted with magnets. Used the super strong rare earth magnets from Lowes Hardware.

I think I am going to mount on the range hood as well, but I am going to bolt it on. really didn't want to drill a hole in the wall

Thought about that, did not like the idea of hanging paper over a flame source.

Just incase something should go wrong I suggest.

Awesome paper towel holder

I installed the Kamenstein paper towel holder under the cabinet. What is awesome about this holder is that it ratchets the paper towels and you don't have half a roll sitting on the floor during travel time. Liked it so much that DW had me install one in our kitchen at home. You can find them at Wally's World and BedBath&Beyond.
