Hanging fishing rods from TT ceiling?

Does anyone have a good way to hang multiple fishing rods from the ceiling of their trailer? I'm tired of packing my rod case when I want to take a few one-piece rods (7-9' long).

I was considering screwing four eye hooks into the ceiling and extending two rubber bungee cords to hold the rods. Not sure how that would look though.

My worry is screwing hooks into the ceiling or having the apparatus hang too low.

That is the concept. I like the bungee setup but my DW might not like that hardware. Seems pretty sturdy, though, to hang on that garage door. Thanks.

I don't think I'd like this idea. Bad enough we have to have the 10-point deer mount hanging in our house. We don't have a "rec room" or family room, so its hanging in our living room......for now.

Deer antlers - sure - I get that. Definitely rec room material.

My fishing poles would only be on the ceiling while towing, however, so its not like I'm trying to spruce up the camper with fishing gear.

I found a set of overdoor hangers at Walmart that I hang my fly rods on. I am sorry that I don't have a picture for you. I am not near the my TT.. Basically, the hanger is a steel rod that when attached to the top of a door angles down at a 45 degree angle with balls that would seperate the hangers. I have attached the hangers to my slide out. To travel you will have to use a bungee or something to keep the rods from bouncing off when traveling.

I know that I was the first forum member to offer-up a solution, but all I did was google it.... I've been thinking about this one (I know, that's dangerous....).

Anyway, given the cost of decent fishing rod, even a good fiberglass rod will cost $50+, and if we start to talk about graphite fly rods, we easily can reach 10x that (I just paid $225+/- for a 9' graphite 5wt fly rod), there is no way that I'd transport them outside of a protective case. Too many chances of something catching on one while carrying things in or out, something coming loose with a good bump, or just Mr. Murphy's Law taking over.....

Only two of my many rods have any warranty, and only one of them is a no-questions-asked warranty. For the 5 or 6 minutes that it takes to put the rod together and thread the line through the guides, I'll very much limit the possibility off breakage.

Ok-here is an idea. If your wife sews have her make a sleeve the length of the fishing rod for each one. Lay them length wise on the bumper and secure with velcro or bungee cords.

Or maybe lay some 1" PVC pipe on the bumper to insert the rods with maybe a piece 6" round pipe at the end to protect the reel. I've seen amazing things done with PVC pipe.

Now there's an idea. I wouldn't need to use PVC pipe though if my rod case can be strapped on top of the bumper between the trailer and wheel. Although I am tired of assembling and disassembling the rods and reels each time this might be a more convenient way to travel with it.




I'll still need to store reels separately and thread the guides (and disassemble later) but it would solve one of my issues. Ultimately, what I am trying to do is reduce the amount of clutter in the trailer aisle. That's what appealed to me about attaching to the ceiling. There's not much storage for bulkier items in a Hybrid so it all goes into the aisle. All of it together makes it hard to access the bathroom and kitchen when we stop on long trips.
