Heated matresses & matress toppers?

Morning (or at least it is here),

I know a lot of people have heated mattresses and use a mattress topper...does the heat work through to the top of the mattress topper or do you not even turn it on? Mattress topper on the bottom? Help?

depends on how thick topper is. I'd rather get the heater topper. But either way i would assume the heated mattress would warm up the topper

We have two memory foam mattresses. One is 2" and one is 1 1/2". The heat will come through if you turn it on a few hours before bedtime and cover with a sleeping bad or comforter while its heating. Putting something heavy on the bed while heating, such as duffel bags helps.

The highest setting of 6 will actually begin to roast you sometime in the middle of the night. I usually need to turn it down although my wife likes to have it on high all night. Compromise means that its on high all night.

FR's hybrids have the optional heated mattresses.
we use foam toppers and the heat still gets thru. not as strong as without the toppers, but it still gets thru. you just have to turn it up higher. but if you've got a 4"+ topper, it may not get thru much.
we would've not considered ordering it, since we rarely have electric hookups, but ours already had them when we bought it.

man, are we glad it did!
