Help - looking for pump assisted water fill system
Hi all,
I came across a thread recently that detailed how to build a small pump assisted system to transfer water from a 5 gallon container into your fresh water tank while on site. I had a small pump, couple of switches etc...
Can't seem to be able to find it, and now my wife wants one! Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,

why not get a drill pump? You can get them at lowes or home depot for $7. Get a 10' piece of potable water rated garden hose, cut it in half and hook it onto the pump. Run some bleach through it, rince it out and your good to go.

We had done the “drill pump” set up for 10 years when we had our popup.
We had a 11 gal fresh water tank in the popup & used two 5 gal collapsible water jugs from walmart & the drill pump.
Now that we’re in a 5er, I use a 50 gal surplus fresh water tank in the back of my pickup & a cheap 12v pump mounted on a 2”x6” with jumpers long enough to reach my 5ers battery.

Hi guys,
Jas, I had considered a drill pump, however the wired in pump I came across looked like a cool mod! I realize it is more work and to a small extent more money, but the novelty just couldn't be ignored
The post may have ben on the pop up portal website...
I'll keep surfing the forums for now.
Cheers,

Why do a simple mod when you can take it to the next level!
That's my motto.
Good luck & let us see it when you're done.

3 Happy Campers - a man after my own heart! Will post pics in the next few weeks, we are off for 4 days on Wed evening. Just finished installing a custom aluminum roof rack last night, so I can scratch that mod off my list!
Have a great weekend (because mine begins tomorrow )

I just installed a 1.1 gpm FloJet pump in my TT for the sole purpose of using a 5 gallon water bottle supplying drinking water to two taps- one at the kitchen sink and one at the bathroom sink. Works excellent and the kids can help themselves to pure bottled water anytime. I will later add 2 three-way valves to refill the same water bottle without taking anything apart. Is this what you are wanting to do?
I could probably put some pics together tonight if you wanted a step by step deal.
Here's the pump I use in this setup:
LF Series Diaphragm Pumps > Water System Pumps > RV/Caravan > Flojet - ITT

Hi turbopuppy,
That is a great idea! It is a little more robust that what I am thinking however. I just want to transfer water from a portable container to my TT when my fresh water tank runs dry.
I actually found the system I am looking to duplicate:

Think I will pick up the parts this week and install next. I like your idea for my next trailer however
Thanks,

I use the drill to run my levelers & tongue jack so it's not a big deal in my camp setup.
