Our CC 30RL has a great basement door on the passenger side. Opens from bottom to top with two lifters and two latches.
However, the opposite side, with access to the basement as well as the water connections and dumping valves open with a hinge on the left side of the door and a single latch on the right side. When this door is fully open it blocks access to the hydraulic leveling system and the battery compartment and sticks out farther than the front of the RV when fully open. Even with just a light wind it's pretty easy to be surprised when the door catches the breeze and slams into your back when you're trying to get something out of storage or dumping the tanks.
Does anyone have any ideas to modify the door or to help secure it when it's open?
Second question: Twice during towing this same door has opened up on us despite our best efforts to be sure that the latch mechanism has engaged. Any better ways to ensure latching ?
