NCL6694 you better do a lot of research before you spend the time and money. There's more threads pertaining to back bumper racks in this forum than you would ever want to read thru. Bottom line is you need to check with Forest River (and the frame manufacturuer too) to understand what the recommendations are for your particular TT, even if it is out of warranty. Light weight TTs and FWs have light weight frames and that back tube bumper on many of these RVs is not strong enough to support anything much over 150-200lbs, less depending on how you attach it. (On our first FW, 2005 Flagstaff, I almost lost the bumper, rack and Honda eu3000is on I-95).
No one fully realizes the forces that a back bumper rack goes thru while going down the road. Like Lou's wife, I followed a FW down the road last summer and was blown away at how much his bikes moved. We pulled into the same campground and to my surprise, I could not move his bikes with my hands. But, they were bouncing all over the place going down the road.
I was going to put a rack on our newest FW (2010 Sandpiper) and have decided against it at this point in time. The frame mfg Lippert (Lippert Components, Inc
) does sell racks for their frames. Hope this helps.
