Home made wheel chocks

Made these out of pressure treated 4x4 left over from a yard project. The centre piece is a wedge made out of a piece of left over hardwood flooring. tied them all together with a piece of clothes line wire and all are attached together when they are the last thing to toss in the storage compartment, and the first to be pulled out. They are easy to install and remove, no jamming or threading bolts.

Nice job Walke.

They're nice for hitching & unhitching, but won't stop the trailer from rocking front-to-back.

The ones below act as a brake to prevent for & aft movement.

Mike, nice plans. The only plans I've found on the 'net looked like they'd been drawn by a 5 year old.

I used the plans above and they work great. My brother in law who recently purchased a trailer seen mine and decided to make his own set. They look great and are functional.

Yeah.
I know of the one you mentioned, but I'm certain it's works as well as any.

I did about the same thing with wood block, but I used 3/4 pony pipe clamps in place of the all thread.

Thanks again Mike for a great - and economical - idea!

Yet one more thing to get my hubby working on.

Ok....not to sound totally stupid, but will we ever have to worry about "splinters" in our tires?

(and a question that is off topic.....where can we get tire rims/covers like yours? do they make them for TT's)

I recently built the same chucks with the following modification:

Used 4"x4" wood to make the chucks
Used a wing nut for the top nut.

And yes I need to cut the excess from the bolt.

No wories about splinters.

The wheels came with the trailer. They are also available on-line at Series06.com

About the wheels...thanks for the link. Those look really nice.
What I am really looking for are "hub-caps" or what the modern day people call "rims".
I will type it in the search box to see what pops up.
