How to make your water pump silent when running

Should this be under MODS?

How do you make your water pump silent or much less noise.
If you can get to your pump remove the 4 mounting screws and slide a mouse pad between the pump and the floor.
Reinstall the 4 wood screws and now you have a silent pump.

Any question?

What do you long term RVers consider loud for pump operation? I've remounted the pump on rubber spacers since I had the rubber kicking around. The pump in my Rockwood doesn't seem quieter or noisier than the pump that was in my Jayco popup.

I generally have the pump turned off when we're not needing water, so it's not going to come on during the night.

Are some pumps and/or their mounting methods more problematic than others?

Some people just find the noise anoying and want less.

Iggy,
Nice work. I am going to do the mouse pad thing next week when I pick my rig up for the Labor Day weekend.

Jeff,
I saw in your link that you installed an accumulator tank and also saw it in another thread sometime last week. What exactly does an accumulator tank do? Sounds like it is a nice to have, I just don't understand the function of the device?

Sorry to hi-jack the thread but it is related.

Thanks!
