How to prop the door w/ the awning out?
I wanted to see if there is a more official/better solution to keeping the door prop'd open when camping. I came up with an improvised solution using a bungee cord! I put a glove btwn the awning post and door so it wouldn't rub...
Is there a better solution?

Without a picture of the whole camper it's hard to say, but that is the first one I have seen configured the way yours is. It looks as if your awning was 2 foot longer, then the door and door holder would all be under the awning. I've never seen an awning stop between the door edge and the door holder, but then I haven't seen everything. I guess one other solution would be to unclip that post and put it in "carport" mode, then, you could use the door holder.

Our door is also very close to the awning arm. Rockwood installs a door closer (cylinder) that holds the door open.

I have had problems with the cylinder. The bracket on the door is held in with sheet metal screws. Opening and closing the door works them loose and elongates the holes. TT side is fine. I have temporarily removed the cylinder until a permanent fix can be made. When we bought the TT is June, I liked the cylinder idea but also thought that it would work loose. May work on a resolution this weekend. I'll pass it along for anyone else that has the same problem.

That is a common situation. I take it that you don't want to release the awning arm and move it to the straight up and down position? When I didn't feel like doing that, I did what you have done and used a bungee cord.

Question: Next to the little post that holds your door open, there is a tiny tube. What is it? What's in there?

It's a door stop. It acts as a bumper.

Thanks much, Mike. I keep looking for where coax would attach to the Grey Wolf. I couldn't imagine sticking it in that little tube, but I was willing to try.
Sorry for the thread hijack.

On my bedroom door of my Rockwood I have this same set up but the little catch arm is bent at a 90 degree and closer to the door so it hold the door open at a 90 degree position.

how about a magnet cabinet door latch mounted to the door and glue the strike pad to the awning in the area the two meet
might work, might not, it is a weird set up

you would have to attach the magnet and stike plate ( some kind of stong glue or small sheet metal screws )

Only problem I see with magnets is rust, and the stains rust make.

you maybe right on the rust, i will look at home depot the next time i am there, it seems to me that there maybe some kind of plastic or rubber type cabinet door holder, i think it is like a small shaft with a ball on the end that would stick inside a rubber thing, sorry i dont have the right names for it
check this out http://www.sailorsams.com/mall/door_holder.asp

You need an Angled Door Holder. You would need to mount it clode to the door edge, but it should work.
