How to remove “nightstands” to change from Queen to King mattress

Hello... we have a 2017 Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite 8328BS that we want to change from a Queen to a King mattress.

The nightstands will need to be removed and we will probably add new plywood to make the bed base bigger.

Has anyone done this and any tips to offer?

We have a Flagstaff classic ultralite I believe basically the same thing as your camper we also wanted to do the same thing as you.we have a king mattress we purchased and took out the queen mattress and sat the king mattress in to see how it would fit, the king mattress is tight up against the walls making it almost impossible to put the sheets on the mattress. It is just way to tight a fit in my opinion so we just decided to live with the queen size. Hope this helps you out. If you have any questions let me know. Would be happy to answer. Good luck.
