How to secure TV when traveling
Hey fellow campers! Need some ideas on how I can secure/support a television that is wall mounted on a positionable mount that does not have a locking mechanism.
My concern is that though I hit a stud when mounting I am concerned that bouncing etc. will eventually loosen or break it free.
I don’t like having to detach it every time as it’s a pain.
I was thinking of using a strap or something but wanted to get a few other ideas.
Also, I’d don’t have a picture right now so we’ll have to use our imagination.
Tv is 26” flat panel tv.

Go by a Primer Time dealer and have a look at the 330RST . It uses two straps and works well.

Or get one of these from Camping World:
https://www.campingworld.com/master-...er-mount-small
There is a larger one for bigger TV's.
I have two of them and have had them for five years in two different campers.
Love them and no straps needed!

All 3 tvs in my 5er came with a strap that is mounted to wall. They have a snap buckle. Once snugged up only need to buckle after.

Not sure about your setup, but my TV is mounted in an alcove of sorts above the range hood. I cut about 16" from a hollow pool noodle then split it lengthwise along one side. When the TV is pushed all the way in, I stuff the noodle between the bottom of the set and the shelf below it, with the edge of the screen in the split side. There is very little clearance there so it's a tight fit, taking the load off the mount. So far the TV has stayed in place for several lengthy trips.

Mine has 2 straps that hold it to the wall above a shelf. I have over 10,000 miles on my rig with no problems. It's on my departure check list so I never forget it.

How to secure TV when traveling
We have a 39" flat panel. We use a flat bungee cord with eye bolts mounted above and below TV. Actually my son-n-law mounted the bolts and TV for us.

Strapping it down does not solve the problem of the bouncing around. While it might be a pain in the butt, most televisions aren't built to take this type of pounding. We never mounted our televisions. They sit on the original legs they came with and we put it on the bed when we travel.

On our 2017 CC 34RL2 the 48" TV is mounted on a wall mount in the living and was very wobbly. I used some of the TV packing material behind each side which holds it very tight. It's been that way for a year and half with no problem.

We have a 26" and use 4 of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074V2MFMC..._pu80Ab8P3S220 to tie it back. I put 4 smalldraw handles screwed to the wall behind the TV and run these through them and use these velcro straps when in motion. Been using this since 2015 with no issues.

We tuck small pillows under the screen to prevent bouncing. No problems so far. very difficult to mount and dismount every time.

Our TV is also on a movable Mount. I made a cover that slips over it like an envelope and is secured with a Velcro strap that goes around the TV and through the mount arm. I snug it up as I push it back against the wall. The cover is just to keep it from getting bumped, but it really is probably not necessary. The Velcro strap does the trick.

We used to bury our wall-mounted 32" TV under the covers of our queen bed with our previous TT. On a particularly twisty road in Northern California, it bounced off the bed and self-destructed. Lessons learned.
Good advice from all. We now have a 5er with secure and safe storage for both TV's. One is retractable and secure in the living room. The other is firmly and securely attached to mounts in the bedroom. So far so good.

We only remove the bedroom tv and put it under the bed covers, during travel.
The wall mounted tv in the living/kitchen area stays mounted.

tv mount
I have a 2017 Heritage Glen. The wall mount has a magnet so when you push it to the wall it locks. The TV also just lifts off so it can be set up outside. If you have a dealer near you stop and see. Good luck
