Hydraulic Slode Modification

Hi there, we just bought a Sierra 30iok with three hydraulic slides that are daisy chained together, I've checked and there is no manual lock out. I would just like to block the main slide and the bedroom slide from opening. I need to doublecheck but I think the system is tubed as follows: a supply line goes to the first slide cylinder, then it's tee'd off to the next slide cylinder and then again to the third slide cylinder and then returns to the pump reservoir. I'm thinking of installing a 12v normally closed hydraulic valve on the inlets to the two slides I don't want to open, then install a toggle to maintain switch in the control panel. Thus I would have to toggle each slide switch as well as the slide extend switch to individually open the other two slides. Does that make sense? The valves I've looked at are good for 3500 psi. Any input would be appreciated.

Cheers

That sounds like it'd work.

I think I'd use normally open solenoid valves, and power them to stop the slides from opening. I'd also put a solenoid on each slide. That way you'd have a lot of flexibility in operating the slides.

By using normally open valves, in case of a failure you'd still be able to operate the slides normally.

You said they are daisy chained together. Does the return get affected by the valves you're installing? Just a thought.

I wasn't t even considering what would happen if they stopped working! 😜Normally open it is!! No this shouldn't effect the return lines at all, it would be outside the loop. I need to open it up this weekend and confirm.

Thanks
