ID on EMS

I made a dog tag, at the Super Center automated machine, with my owners information and used pop rivits to mount it to the back of my Progressive. industries PT-30C device. Looks great and may cause someone to think twice before taking it.

Why not use the hardwired version? Unless you already own the portable model.

If hardware version fails for Ny reason, you have to crawl in there and jump wire a bypass to get power. Pros and cons to everything.

Not on the progressive industries unit. Has a remote bypass switch. One of the reasons i decided to purchase it.

I did hear about a Progressive hardwired unit burning and fire damage to the Motorhome. I think the portable would be safer. Motor home was totaled.

First one I've heard of and there are a LOT of them out there. I'd think it would have had to be installed REALLY sloppily for that to happen. Possibly undersized wiring. I just put one in not too long ago there's really nothing to catch on fire. Even if a connection wasn't tight or the contactors stuck, it should blow breakers first. Other than that, it's all circuit board.
