We keep a S.A.M.E. capable weather radio on the TV shelf in the bedroom. It has an F connector aux. antenna input, which we plug into the TV F connector on the wall to take advantage of the TV antenna system.
Much better reception.
FM broadcast and WX radio are near where TV channel 5 used to be. TV antennas are great for enhancing FM radio reception.
Reminds me of a bit of nostalgia. I remember way back when we first got cable, you used to be able to get both cable TV channels and cable radio stations. Just hook the cable up to your radio in place of the FM radio antenna and suddenly you had a host of new stations to dial in. Don't get that from cable companies now-a-days. Instead they just pipe their music on one of the TV channels.
But as a kid I found it fascinating that that was possible. One little cable providing all this stuff at the same time.
