dafting

If I'm not mistaken I remember it's one car length for each 10 miles per hr. Sixty miles per hr. 6 car lengths. It seems like no one is afraid of tailgating, I think it's really scary. Besides you can't go any faster by being on their butt! Why be in a hurry anyway?.......just sayin

Don't go by "car lengths" when trying to equate it RV towing and following distance. Too many variables. Just MAKE SURE you allow enough distance for YOU to stop. In that thinking add in the TIME it takes for the magnets (assuming you have electric drum brakes) to actuate and apply the what can become nearly non-existent trailer brakes while your S.O. is screaming in your ear...just sayin'.

Agreed!
Because of the extra weight the one car rule of thumb is out the window.
I would at least double that on good dry roads.

I would like to see someone successfully leave 10-12 car lengths of space in front of them. It would continuously be getting filled in while you stay on the brakes trying to gain space back. People will squeeze in anywhere they can.
