Installed a wireless Bluetooth alarm & sensors on TT
Twice in the last 2 months, we have had someone steal our propane tanks, cover and attempt to get into our RV TT that is parked in our driveway. I got feed up and found a inexpensive wireless outdoor alarm w/ contacts, motion sensor and remote controls. Very well worth it at under $30.00 from Amazon.
KERUI Home Security System Indoor Outdoor Weather-Proof Siren Window Door Sensors Motion Sensor Alarm with Remote Control
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I mounted the siren/horn inside my Maxx Air II vent cover to protect it from direct rain, make it harder to find if your a bad guy and disable and allow for the 110db siren to not be muffled. Ran the power around the fan itself and tapped into the power from there.
Set the motion sensor up directly across from the entry door. Also used the contact sensors on the 2 front storage compartment doors.
Set the alarm and had the wife open the entry door and BOOM---- ear piercing siren goes off. same for the storage doors.
Time will tell if this is system works but for $27.00 and 1 hour to install and test, its piece of mind.

Great job, I wish I would have done this with my first camper. Had my battery stolen. It was parked in my driveway. Thank you for the link

I'd also invest in a way to alert you to the alarm activation. Could be as simple as a wifi motion sensor hooked to your home network. I know you'd think that the siren would attract attention, but it might not do as much as you think. How often do you look out the window when a car alarm goes off?

Agree. I really want to add contacts to my Comcast Home security but the distance is a bit "iffy". between the Ring doorbell and this stand alone, we'll see. Like I said, this was $27 vs. $50 for 1 Comcast sensor that may or may not work due to range to wifi

If its powered by your TT’s battery wouldn’t it be easy to cut the battery cables outside the external battery box and disable this alarm? I don’t know if that’s likely to happen but it’s certainly a vulnerability the way you have it setup.

My guess is the hope is to chase them and in their panic they might not even think about the battery. If it's also hooked up to the house it would also need to be disconnected.

I am not saying you need to put it into your house alarm, but if you could why not. My alarm system I can do that but I'd have to manually disable the sensor in the settings or I would not be able to set the house when we pulled away (it would trip the alarm).
You might not want to, because a cheap wifi based smart sensor that has the ability to send a message to your phone is all you might need. It might prove useful even if you're camping. You'd just need wifi for it from a Hotspot or cg.

If they don’t first cut the battery cables to steal the battery, they might not be thinking about the power supply to a possible alarm system.

Yeah the problem is I am sure he's not there when the thief comes by.. So that will not do much. This type of comment leads down to the dark side, but most states (at least around the ne) would not allow a use of said force for the protection of property.
