I got tired of my 2X12's splitting. Found this idea on utube.
I bought a 4X6 horse stall mat at Tractor Supply for $40, cut it up into 24 12X12's. Gave 12 to my FIL and I use 12 under my 6 point level up jacks. Seems to be working good. They are rubber, made from recycled tires.

That is a great idea! Good thinking.
Now as a city slicker I'm guessing a horse stall matt is a hard rubber or plastic mat.
Are they very heavy?

I made a set of four last week from 2x6 boards sandwiched between 1/4 in plywood.
Glued and screwed the lot together and then coated the works with some Flex Seal and then screwed rope handles on.

I am not sure how they will work out so I am going to try you idea next.

Hard rubber. The mat weighs 100 lbs. Easy to cut with a metal straight edge and a box cutter knife. Went through 3 blades.

Jig saw would be my choice may lube the blade with some soapy water.

Use walmart plastic cuting boards for our pads. Light weight and stiff enough. Being out here in Amish country never thought to use the horse mat...

At 1/2 for mat, that's 50 lbs. Pretty expensive in lost cargo ability.

Just covered a Lynx block with alum tread plate top and bottom and bolted to pad. Don't have to store anything.
