Keep up with your tires

2012 Freedom Express 292bhds, 2 wheels on right side had tread separate from tire within 100 miles of each other. Tread was a little worn but probably dry rot and the Texas heat on the roads. It shredded the sub floor above the wheels and ripped the heater duct work and broke the bracket for the outside storage drawer. Could use some type of aluminum shield/wheel well above the wheels to protect RV.

Are there any wheel wells we can put into place to keep this from happening doing a blow out?

Ok, I am not sure about android, but iphone has a known issue (thanks kaadk for telling me this) with websites that won't correct the pic if taken upside down on the phone itself. The phone displays the pic correct on it, as it's software is designed to do that, irregardless of the way you turn the phone...as well as many picture viewing programs. It's the website that can't decipher the way the pic was taken.

I called dealer and manufacturer. The answer was no for tandem axle trailers. The bottom of my RV above the wheels is flat. I am just going to buy a sheet of aluminum and cut to size and install to frame above wheels.

We just had the same problem without the damage, thankfully. Two year old tires always covered. Purchased four maxxis tires and moved on from the china brands.

Aren't Maxxis tires made in China and/or Thailand? Maxxis is a subsidiary of Cheng Shin Rubber Industry Co of Taiwan.
Not saying anything against the brand, but .....

Answer directly from Maxxis…

Copied from RV.Net

Hello John,
I appreciate your comments and will not give you the “canned” response. We don’t do that. Yes, the Maxxis M8008 ST Radial trailer tires are indeed manufactured in our state-of-the-art factory in Thailand (only).

On a side note, while I do understand your position on China produced products, that is certainly not true across the board. Maxxis maintains several plants in China as well as Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam. A portion of our Auto and Light Truck product offering is produced in China, but not our ST Radial. I can assure you the same high level of quality workmanship and materials is maintained on China produced tires, as that of our other factories. Some Chinese goods, maybe deservingly so, has gotten a bad rap in recent years. However, not all goods produced in China are of inferior quality. Maxxis is a fine example of that.

So yes they are made in Thailand but from my personal experiences they are the best St tire out there now.

Their letter is correct. Items can be made in China, Thailand, etc., with great quality. All depends on the company. Just look at Nikon and Canon brand cameras; basically made in Thailand.
