Keeping the drawers IN

The bedroom drawers on my Wildcat 28RKBS, when completely closed, clear the slide by about 1 inch. Should they vibrate open.....bad things happen.

After repairing the framing around the slide, and the crunched drawer, I decided to see what I could do to prevent a re-occurrence.

I used 3/16" eye screws in the drawer edges, and in the frame......drop in a 3/16" rod.....problem solved.

Not the OEM/factory ones- I have them on various drawers and they still pop open.

LOVE that mod! The drawers on my unit are still staying in (honeymoon phase) but will definitely file this for future use...would have been great for the old Bounder we traded!

I think I will try this on mine. I have 2 drawers that come open from time to time.

We used child locks that fasten to the inside of the drawer and the hook is fasten to the frame opening. I think they are 6 to 8 in a pack for under $5.00 when we bought them. After we installed them we never had any doors that would open up on our old Cougar. Have not had the need for them on our Cedar Creek as of yet.

I just use Velcro and run it through the handles and pull it tight. Simple, cheap, effective and haven't had a drawer pop open yet.

You can also cut Velcro strips and put on the back side of the drawer face and the stiles.

Are the factory latches adjustable? If so can you explain how?

I am about ready to add add'l. latches, but if they can be adjusted that would be even better.

Thanks

You can move the spring loaded jaws in and out.

No one should have to do that. It should be taken care of at the factory for what these units cost.

Yep, that would work. But when we are setup they move freely and don't have the extra resistance of the Velcro. Either way works.
