Maddogz, the backsplash really pops! Is it gel tiles or the real deal with grout?

Maddogz, we looked at the gel tiles, too. We like the way they look a lot.
BUT, our stove is closer to the walls than yours appears to be in the photographs. The instructions on the ones we found locally gave specific distances they needed to be from open flames, and ours would have been too close.

I really like how yours looks.
My husband thought about doing tile and grout, but it was winter and too cold.
As he said, if what we put up doesn't work out, we can always re-do it later.

The cost for what we did was a lot less than the gel tile, too. Another consideration.

I want to try and get a picture in better lighting, because it doesn't look that dark in real life.
It doesn't look dark, it just looks beautiful, you did an awesome job
