Knife holder

So I couldn't find a knife holder that was big enough, or would fit behind the stove like I wanted, so I made this one.

I used thin wood from the lid of a wood slat box that I didn't need, so it didn't cost me anything. The knives stay put, and I can put some pretty big ones in there. The little cutting board in the bottom slot is used as a hot pad, on my plastic table I use outside.

Nice job on the build, but I am worried about the proximity of the two rear burners.

They're at least 8" away...hasn't been a problem yet. Did this last year.

Looks good. I am as handy as dull knife so I admire anyone that can build something but will show your pic to the more talented members of our "framily" (friends we consider family). On a completely different vein we do have the same hot pad set.

Glad you all like it, it certainly wasn't complicated, or expensive, but it sure works for me. I like having the knives easy to get to, without taking up any counter space. Plus I can put some really large knives in there too. The holder isn't even an inch thick, so it doesn't get in the way of the pans I use.
I figure if I didn't like it after a while, it only cost me my time, and that was only about an hour. Oh, and a little bit of craft paint, and clear sealer.
