Thanks to RJHuser, I finally got my remote installed and it works like a charm. Mr. Huser was a godsend for the detailed instructions he so graciously wrote out for me making it possible to use 4 automotive relays. RJ is indeed a "Gentleman & a Scholar". Thank you again Rick.

Its satisfying to see these remotes being installed and used!
I really appreciate that my mod is now being modded!
I hope you guys are enjoying this and get a lot of use.
I never thought this would go over spooking well!
I half expected people to say this mod is worthless and a joke.

Ron

I did discover an issue with the way I implemented the mod. I stapled the green antenna wire to the ceiling of the compartment. This has effected the range of the remote. I might have to rethink that. (maybe not)

I found out by trying to show my DW the awning remote from inside the house. It jerks the awning like crazy when it is at the limit of the range.
The relay keeps dropping in and out.

Thanks to everyone and especially f1000turbo for the idea and RJHuser for the special wiring instructions. Even an electrical dummy like me was able to implement the mod with great success.

My issue is I can't see the awning when running it in and out from inside.
I have hit a tree more than once and over-extended it just about every time I run it out and have to go back inside to bump it back.

FYI, over extending the awning causes a "gully" at the roller where water accumulates in a rain. This can overload the awning. Correctly extended, the material of the awning is on the top of the roller.

The awning in the photo is over extended.

I could tell her this but I think the answer is still going to be put down the beer and leave the camper the way it is.

Lou according to my awnings--------

Lou according to my awnings instructions, the seam or groove nearest the RV should be on the very top of awning tube when extended.

Correct me if I'm wrong?
