Question

Does anyone know where you can get the model with the key fob like most of you have instead of the model they are selling now with the big white remote box with the two big red buttons and telescoping antenna that looks like it came from a 1960 si-fi movie?

No issues driving to the campground; on the way back home I forgot to switch the remote control back to "Normal" (NOT in the pre-departure checklist yet).

I must have had an inadvertent key press on the FOB in my pocket, because the awning was about 8 inches deployed when I got home.
It shocked the daylights out of me. Since it was on the curb side of the camper and only 8 inches deployed, no help from passing trucks or motorists who would not have seen it.

Good news was the motor prevented the awning from unrolling in that 65 MPH wind. It was as taught as it is normally. Lesson learned the hard way and has applicability to the "tie it down crowd" threads. If it had just had the spring tensioner it surely would have unrolled the entire awning.

holy sheep nuggets ! I totally missed this post !
better add to the tear down list " switch for power awning remote"

Maybe you were splitting wood (Supposedly) or tipping adult beverages. It's been here for several days.

Rule #1: Don't run out.

You run out of beer with half a buzz and gotta plead with the GF to take you to the grocery store... Then, she wants to spend 90 minutes in there getting something to make dinner when there is a perfectly good package of cheese dogs in the fridge.

Then another 20 minutes picking out a bottle of wine for herself. "Here babe, get this one. It has a heart on the label"

Almost a thousand hits !

Just looked almost a thousand hits on video !

But more importantly I noticed the whole video was 50 seconds long and I am wondering if you can retract completely and extend completely a manual awning in that time ?

Thanks again Ron for the idea and place to get the parts for this mod and RJHuser for the excellent relay wiring instructions. I finally had more than 15 min to myself this weekend and got a few things done on the V-Lite. Here are a couple pics of my install. The FR control panel is just inside the rear door and has quite abit of room inside so I made a mount and installed all the parts then tested the entire unit outside the trailer with a meter to ensure all was as advertised prior to mounting. The only thing left is a 7 amp fuse as I promptly blew the 2A when I deadheaded the awning. I installed a lighted power switch so we know when the unit is enabled and it will be part of our closing routine to shut the unit off. Also included a shot of the lovely mess that FR leaves behind.

Not a problem!
Camping this past weekend allowed 4 other units to be purchased after seeing mine in operation.
Oh and two sets of led awning lights were after being purchased!
Still working on my next great idea ............... I suspect not enough coors light wisdom has hit me just right yet.
I'm glad all have enjoyed and no failures to date.
