LED 921 Upgrade
Hello, I'm wanting to update all my bulbs to warm white led's. Anyone have suggestions or can lead me to some really good posts?

Here's what we changed ours to a year ago and have been very pleased.

I upgraded like Dave did purchasing from Amazon except I got the 3528 flat type. All of the led's are on one side which worked fine in the flat type ceiling fixtures we have. I bought 2 packages (10 per package) and only found one that wouldn't work. I got the warm white also and you can't tell the difference in light color from the regular type bulbs. And the plastic lens is never hot like they were with the old bulbs too which is great.

LED's from Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/AUTOSAVER88-We.../dp/B0154FU4H4
Bought off Amazon and love the cool white light. They're polarized, so if they don't work just flip around. No more hot light covers.

These are the ones I used on my last trailer and a family member's Class C.
You want bulbs that are rated to more than just 12 volts. Our DC systems quite often run at 13 volts or a bit more. It will shorten the life of a "12v" bulb.

We tried the flat style but changed to barrel style as flats were too dim ....

Very illuminating topic.... (sorry, couldn't help myself). Interesting twist. Noticed that the LED's on many of the new units are way too bright for our tastes. We're getting a 2016 Sunseeker and the under cabinet lights above the dinette (very close to your head when seated) were so bright I reached up and turned them off while talking to the salesman. Browsing Amazon now for dimmer bubs.

Curious why nobody mentioned the panels? Much more light output+light is directed towards the trailer not the roof etc. I use these in my trailer, nothing else. Made a night and day difference between round LED 921s. When purchasing ANY led lights for your trailer, make sure they are SMDs and preferably 5050 which means the actual chip/led is square 5mmx5mm. I think these are the biggest for now and give more light output than others.

You can buy a 5050 in a flat round bulb (we did) along with some 3528's. We prefer the 3528, as they are closer to the original light output. We found the 5050 too bright.

I use the 48 led flat panel. In the main area I put them on a remote control dimmer.

The bulbs I linked to are flat panels, just happen to be round. They only have LED's on the one surface.

In our last trailer I tried the cheap ones from Amazon. I Did not like the color and they flickered a lot which was annoying. I ended up getting some from M4 LED. They do cost more but the quality, color, and light output was much better. Just more proof you get what you pay for.

We tried the flat type and did not like them. They weren't as bright as the regular bulbs. We put the OEM bulbs back in.

Not quite...SMD means "Surface Mount Device"...
The higher the number in front of the "K" is a more whiter, brighter light, as that is for the degrees in Kelvin of the light spectrum.
3,000K is warm white. More of a yellowish white...
5,000K is cool white.. More white with no yellowish tinge..
6,500K is daylight.. Whiter light and bright..
A trailer full of 6,500K is great for open heart surgery IMO...

Our camper is still dark inside with our new LED bulbs - in a shaded site, dark brown leather furniture, cherry cabinets and dark charcoal counter tops
Even with six floor length windows in the dining slide and a huge window in rear of rig it can still be dark at times so the brighter LED is fine
