LED ribbon lights in pantry
TOWTA stated (actually demanded) some sort of lights in the pantry to see what was stored. (We don't make a list like Herk )
So, I decided to try the ribbon lights like some of us have been putting on the outside. Got them installed and they work pretty good. Now to figure out where to get the power and also mount a microswitch so when the door is opened the lights will go on.

Finished, got power for the transformer from the refrigerator receptacle, ran the wire thru the wall into the pantry and up to the microswitch at the top of the pantry door. Works great. Not too fond of the light blue lights, but they are as white as the remote will allow. SUCCESS, TOWTA likes them!.

Good idea!
What did you use for the micro switch?

One I've had for years and have no idea what it came off of. Something pretty small tho' because it has less than 1/8" travel.

Thanks "old coot"
This looks like something my TOWTA would like as well, guess I had better see if I can make it work for our rig.

That looks good. I like it. I've wanted to add some string LED's but since we dry camp 90% of the time I need 12 volt.
I've looked at the ones in auto stores and can't find what wattage they are. Having LED's in most fixtures, I don't want one if it uses more power than the 6 watts or so the fixtures use. I'd like to put some up in some valances and cabinets as shown.
Any idea of the wattage per foot on the 12v types?

Don't know per ft. but I am using a transformer with an output of 12V 1.0 amp for a 15' string in the pantry.

Well, another mistake, the lights were not as white or as bright as the remote would make them. I got the remote out and started playing with it and now they are much whiter and brighter. Will have TOWTA play with the remote so she can set it to whatever her little heart desires. (As usual)
