Well maybe after it gets loaded up with something worth eating, them garbage bags leave lots to be desired.

Put a door switch on to have it come on automatically. I'll probably paint it to match or pick up a brown magnet.

What a great idea. I think I will look into putting some under my dinette. that storage area is always dark and hard to find things.

They are simple 12V wires right? Just figure out a way to run a wire off the battery?

Vin.

Yes 12v so no adapter needed. There was no constant 12v under the pantry so I had to fish a wire to the led interior light that was 2 feet away. Went ok as the styrofoam insulation had a wiring raceway I could use. The LED ribbon is warm white and the type was a 5630 chip. These are the nicest/warmest 12v ones I have ever bought.

Yep I agree it's a great idea. I've been planning that upgrade for a few weeks now and been waiting for and item or two to come in.

Did you run the lights on both sides or just one?

Led strip light in pantry

I Just put them on the one side that had an edge to hide them (hinged). I had to get power out of the ceiling unless I wanted them on the outside scare light or water pump. A plunger switch would have finished nicer but I had the magnetic switch and wanted to get it done.

Did that 3 years ago and control the lights with a micro switch so when the door opens, the lights go on. Got the 12v from the refrigerator just to the side and bottom of the pantry.

Also added micro switches on both basement doors and the front storage area so the lights come on when the door(s) are opened.

That looks nice! The switch you used makes sense. Nice it doesn't need a big magnet for it to work.

Nice clean install. I did one of those strips in my fridge, in lieu of the 10 watt incandescent. Its 3x brighter.

Back to you.....great addition.

Looks good. Can you tell me where you got the lights. Maybe a website link? There seems to be so many kinds available.

Pricey compared to a 5meter strip on ebay/Amazon.

I will find the eBay seller and diode size and color and send your way when I find it. Mine were warm white around 3200k color temp.
Led chip was a 5630 (size) and of course 12vdc. So far the brightest 12v I could find. I paid around $10 for 16'.
