LED tailights

Hi everyone I just finished one of my many upgrades to my new trailer. This one was a big safety issue to me. My liberty express came with LED marker and trail lights, however the brake lights/turn signals were standard 1157 bulbs. During the daylight sunny day hours you would have a hard time seeing any brake lights. I switched them out for LED units. This was big improvement. Now you can see them quite well. Next is the surge protector. Happy Camping.

Snapper did you just change the 1157 out for an LED replacement or did you do an entire tail light change? Send up some pics and what you actually did.

Do you have any pictures of the tail lights that you installed or are the just bulb replacement?

You can buy complete LED tail/brake/turn/license assemblies at Harbor Freight pretty reasonable.

This is what I used.

Those seem just right. Very big and plenty of light.

Several versions like this on etrailer - about $65 each - kind of expensive. And no plate illumination.

Wouldn't pass any inspection. Looks like a last minute after thought anyway.
The lights look great though

I added a plate lamp (about $7)to solve that issue.

I had no issue with the cost especially when I saw how bright they are. I've seen how dim incandesant lamps can be and if I can wake up some nitwit on their cell phone when I get on the stoppers then it's a drop in the bucket.

Hi guys I purchased the taillights at harbor freight
They are the submersible type. The were very reasonable in price. I removed the entire old style unit and used the same mounting holes that were used to mount the new ones. They have approx 15 large style LED'S in the units each. I will take some pictures tomorrow and post. It took me approx 2.5 hours to install and re seal the light housings.
