The light on the left is the original and the right it's the LED , personally I think the LED is not bright.

You can use one of the free ipad/ipod apps like light meter or light meter to measure the lumen of the bulbs installed.

They are quite usefull.

No, they come with wedge connectors. They just plug right in. The hardest part was finding a reliable way to fasten those bright pads to the fixtures. I used a combination of "extreme" Velcro and zip ties.

My LEDs are brighter than the original 921 lights.

I feel like a total fool, but than again I am new to this, although I do have a little mechanical skills in me!!!
Guess what? I bought the wrong LED replacement . I was putting in 194 (which goes on the outside). The inside are 921.....
I do appreciate everyone's comments throughout this little concern since the beginning of the trend !!! Thank you....

I took Herk's advice and went with these pads in a couple places, and some of the pancake ones over the bed. Very happy with them.

When looking at the fixture from the side, at times the LED's dont look at bright. they are somewhat directional, throwing their light down, which is of course where you need it. for example, over our kitchen island they offer more light than the original bulbs.

in the bedroom, I wanted less light over the bed, and the pancake style were perfect, they are more like a soft reading lamp now.
