Leprechaun Bedroom TV Mount

Has anyone added a TV to the bedroom in there Leprechaun? If so, what mount did you use? Ive been looking at the Paw International TV mount, mainly because it looks simple and is low clearance...Thanks, Bruce

Hi Bruce,

I mounted a TV using a small tilt mount so I could tilt it down as much as possible. It is mounted on an inside partition wall (w/closet).

My reasoning was that we prefer our TV to be placed very high on the wall while lying down. Some TV's also may not display well seen from a lower angle. Finally, near the ceiling with a wall-snug bottom screen edge affords more head clearance while passing by the foot of the bed. We have a closet entry near the far foot.

If you are wondering, I was unable to find a wide backing designed-in for a variety of TV mount screws. I made do with a solid wall part (stud?) where I could get two screws in for my best shot. One screw is still apparently into thin paneling which I was careful to not over-tighten. It does assist in preventing mount rotation, since the panel is very strong in that shear plane.

If you find a factory path to better solid mounting, I would appreciate info on that, as I still closely monitor my current mount. It has worked for several trips without coming loose, but more solid would be even better.

I believe the flatter mount you are considering may have many screw holes, which is a plus. Good luck with your resolution.

Wes

FWIW:

I used a Ramco Engineering Movieview Mount in my travel trailer. It has the same style mounting hardware as the mount in the living area.

They great to do business with and shipped the same day IIRC.

Thanks Wes, I wound up using a PEERLESS SMARTMOUNT UNIVERSAL TILTING WALL MOUNT FOR 10-29 INCH SCREENS. It has a two hole mounting plate, that lined up perfectly with the stud in the wall. Its rock solid. I had to buy shorter lag bolts, because the ones they sent would have stuck out about 3 inches into the bathroom. On hindsight, that may have been hand for hanging towels on......Bruce
